About Sacred Skin

Meet Miriah Medina

Before entering the paramedical tattoo industry, I spent over 13 years in law enforcement and public safety. Throughout my career, I worked closely with people during some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives. Those experiences taught me the importance of compassion, trust, attention to detail, professionalism, and treating every person with dignity and respect.

Today, those same values guide my work at Sacred Skin. I specialize in paramedical tattooing, including 3D areola restoration, scar camouflage, scar revision, and stretch mark treatments. Many of my clients come to me after cancer treatment, surgery, trauma, injury, or pregnancy.

I understand that every scar tells a story, and I believe healing is about more than appearance — it's about restoring confidence and helping people feel comfortable in their own skin again. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their restoration journey.

Who We Help

Conditions we treat

If what brought you here isn't on this list, reach out anyway — the consultation is free, and an honest answer costs you nothing.

What to Expect

Your treatment, start to finish

The same five steps for every client, so you always know what comes next — no surprises, no pressure at any stage.

  1. Complimentary Consultation

A complimentary conversation — in person or virtually — about your goals, your history, and whether treatment is right for you. If I don't believe someone is a good candidate, I'll always be honest and recommend the best course of action.

  2. Personalized Treatment Plan

Expected results, pricing, number of sessions, healing timeline, and aftercare — all discussed before moving forward. No two scars, and no two clients, are the same.

  3. Treatment Day

Performed in a private studio with sterile, single-use equipment and professional-quality products. Most appointments last one to three hours, depending on the area.

  4. Healing & Aftercare

You'll leave with detailed written aftercare instructions. Most treatments heal in two to four weeks; final results appear around six to eight.

  5. Follow-Up

Once healed, we'll evaluate the results together and decide whether a refinement is recommended — everyone's skin heals differently.

Step 1 is always free — and there's no pressure to go further.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

A few things clients often ask. Have a question that isn't here? Just reach out — no question is too small.

What is paramedical tattooing?

It's a specialized, restorative form of cosmetic tattooing that uses professional-quality pigments to recreate or camouflage areas of skin affected by surgery, injury, or life's changes. At Sacred Skin that includes 3D areola & nipple restoration, scar camouflage and revision, and stretch mark treatments.

Does it hurt?

Your comfort is the priority. Many of the areas we treat have reduced sensation from surgery or scarring, and most clients find the experience very tolerable. We'll walk you through exactly what to expect before we begin.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the treatment. 3D areola restoration usually takes 1 to 2 sessions, and every areola treatment includes one complimentary refinement session if it's needed. Scar camouflage and stretch mark camouflage usually take 2 to 3 sessions. Inkless scar and stretch mark revision usually takes 2 to 4. Sessions are spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart so the skin can fully heal in between. You'll get a personalized plan with your own numbers at your consultation.

How long do results last?

Results are long-lasting, though pigment can soften over time and may benefit from an occasional refresh. We'll go over how to care for and maintain your results so they look their best for as long as possible.

How soon after surgery can I be treated?

Timing depends on your healing and your surgeon's clearance. For areola restoration after reconstruction, treatment usually happens once the area is fully healed. We always recommend confirming the timing with your medical provider first.

Am I a good candidate?

Many clients come to Sacred Skin after cancer treatment, surgery, injury, or pregnancy. The best way to know if a treatment is right for you is a complimentary consultation, where we'll review your goals and your skin together — with zero pressure.

What is the healing process like?

Most treated areas heal over a couple of weeks with simple aftercare we'll provide. Color settles and softens as you heal, which is why a follow-up session is sometimes part of achieving the final result.

How do I get started?

Every journey begins with a free, private consultation. Book online, call, or text us — it's just a relaxed conversation about how we can help you feel like yourself again.

Insurance & Reimbursement

You may be able to be reimbursed

Some insurance plans may provide reimbursement for 3D areola restoration following a mastectomy or breast reconstruction under the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA). While Sacred Skin does not bill insurance directly or guarantee reimbursement, we are happy to provide an itemized paid receipt and treatment documentation upon request.

Every plan is different — it is the client's responsibility to verify coverage with their insurance provider before treatment. What to ask your insurer →

If you have questions about the documentation we can provide, we're always happy to help guide you through the process. Just ask at your consultation.

For Providers

Healthcare professional referrals welcome

Sacred Skin proudly welcomes referrals from plastic surgeons, breast surgeons, dermatologists, oncologists, medical spas, and other healthcare professionals. If you'd like to discuss referring a patient, I'd be happy to connect — sacredskinbymiriah@gmail.com or (720) 296-0555.
